    Whoa spring.

We all know how unpredictable it can be.  This session was planned months in advance, and I had only one day to make it happen.  That morning was beautiful.  Seventy and sunny.

But in true spring fashion, that changed fast.

Lucky thing though, this family knows how to make lemons out of lemonade.  Or whatever the saying is.

It was cold, and windy, and memorable.  They were troopers, and happy despite the imperfections.

What better thing to be as a family, but happy troopers who smile through imperfections.

I hope when they see these pictures, that is what they feel.

    Five sessions, five thousand miles.

I have got to do newborn photos for both these babies and watch this family change and grow.  It is an honor to be trusted with this memories.

Raise your hand if you are ready for the warm weather.  ***raises hand*** I need to feel that sun on me like a blanket, and sit on the beach listening to the ocean.  I need to get my camera out of hibernation and watch families play together in the sand.  I need the flowers and the colors.  I. Need. Summer.

  • A Day in the Life | The Hull Family | Portland Maine Photographer

I have photographed this sweet family many times now. But that was years ago, back in Hawaii.  That was two kids ago, in a different time. Life decided we all would end up on the east coast, so last month when mama had Baby Four, I knew I had to fly down to Virginia to see them.

It was such a treat have the “big kids” read to me and play games, meeting “E” and her incurable optimism, and welcoming the “new baby” into the world.  But honestly, just having the comfort of old friends was the best part.

I don’t get to do “A Day in the Life” Photos that often, but I am reminded why I love them so much.

Documenting all the little moments makes for the best keepsake ever.  And moms, you know, when you are in the thick of it, it is hard to see all the joy in the day.  But there is so.much.joy in our days when we really look.

  • Portraits | Ashley Langtry Photography | THREE!

Well, we are anticipating yet another NorEaster.

    Anyone else ready for spring?

The thing is though, you don’t have to wait for summer to document your baby turning three.
