We are snowed in, in Portland, Maine.  SNOWED. IN. We got a snow storm, followed by an ice storm, followed by a blizzard.  My yard is layered snow, ice, snow up to my knees.  The trees are white and SPARKLY.  I have never seen anything like it. All Christmas day I couldn’t help but think “THIS is what Christmas is supposed to look like.”

I tried something new and I need to share with you.  When I was in ski club at school, every week my aunt would pick me up and make me hot chocolate.  It was just the thing to warm me up and make me feel loved.  I wanted to make some special Christmas Cocoa for the kids to warm up after playing outside. I combined a few recipes (thank you Pinterest) and found CANDY IN A CUP.  Buddy the elf would approve.

This would be perfect for a party, or a special treat.

Let’s face it, it is cold in Maine and sometimes we just have to spoil ourselves to make it though these short days.

Directions:

1 cup heavy cream

1 can condensed sweetened milk

7 cups whole milk

1 package of Ghirardelli milk chocolate morsels

*Put in the crockpot on low until melted, warm, and delish.*
