I have a new favorite. Sunrise at Bellows. The light is golden and magical, the beach is empty and peaceful, and everything about it is just perfect. Here is a recent session there. Don’t you just love it!

Sunrise at Bellows is just magical. Such a sweet little shy guy. This was my favorite image of the session, so much love and fun here. A sweet moment between mom and her boy. After the came up we went over to this amazing field of flowers Peeking over moms shoulder as the sun comes up. -
Makai Pier: Mommy and Me
Do you remember Baby E from Mom’s maternity, or newborn session? Well she is six months now, can you believe it!? She has changed so much. I just love to see my little mini-clients come back to me as they grow and change. Her mama has been the teacher to both of my kids, and I have photographed her Maternity, Fresh 48, newborn, and now Mama-and-Me sessions. Clients become friends around here, and it is so fun for me to capture these huge moments in their lives.

This family was SO much fun. Four boys and all equally sweet, adorable, and well-behaved. I got the most hilarious giggles out of the baby. Seriously, does it get any cuter?! Thank you G family for letting me photograph your amazing clan!

BP4U’s Retro Black and Whites
Earlier this month I took my Little’s exploring. Finally we found King Kamehameha’s Summer Palace and it was GORGEOUS. I took along my camera, but my little models were… not quite into being models. I had this vision. It just wasn’t happening.
I got home uploaded my pictures, and felt even more disappointed. I just didn’t capture the magic of the place. These ruins are incredible, but I guess I had an off day.
So here I am a month later, and I still couldn’t bring myself to edit the images I had from that day. Every time I opened one and started working, I got frustrated by not having created what was in my minds eye. So, I took to my photographer friends for inspiration.
Brooke’s BP4U website has all kinds of actions. Which, I normally don’t use as my style tends to be very clean, but I wanted to get a little more creative with these. So I downloaded her B&W Action Set and went to town.
Here is the thing- because I was frustrated, I applied these actions right to my SOOC images. And you know what? I sort of love them!
These pictures are edited with the “Retro” action, which I thought was pretty fitting for these images, but there are several different ones to choose from, and they are fully customizable. If you are looking for some actions to add to your collection, or just something to get creative with like me, TRY THESE!

New year, time to (re)introduce myself to my new readers and followers. It is still January, so better late than never, right!?I am Ashley. First and foremost I am a mama to two little crazy people, and a wife to a very patient man.
I enjoy everything about my business, but especially just love, love. I love documentary style photography. These candid little moments that I get to capture make me crazy happy. And babies. OMG BABIES.
Nothing is better than documenting the tiny little details of new life, for mom and dad to keep forever.
So that is what goes on around here on a regular basis! Love, new life, and more love! It is a pretty great way to spend my days.
